What happens if I damage rental equipment?

Guests are responsible for all damages to resort property, including rented equipment. Damage deposits apply to some rentals. These, along with credit cards on file, may be used to cover repair fees when necessary.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

All guests, including minors (with a parent or guardian signature) are required to assign a Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks, and Indemnity Agreement before participating in any resort activity, including the use of rented equipment.

Do I need to wear a life jacket when renting a boat?

Yes, we require all guests using rental equipment to wear a lifejacket while on one of our watercrafts or in the water.

Can I fish or kayak on the lake?

Takla Lake is the 5th largest natural lake in B.C. and features a variety of fish species that you can catch, including rainbow and lake trout, burbot, kokanee, and mountain whitefish. All guests who want to fish at the lake must carry a valid fishing license and follow provincial rules and regulations.

Guests may also enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding on the lake. We offer a variety of kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, and small motorboats for rent—all boaters must carry a valid boating license and no rentals will be granted to those under the influence of substances. Guided boat tours are available for those who would like to rest and relax while enjoying the beauty of Takla Lake.

Is the lake accessible at certain times?

Waterfront access is only permitted during daylight hours for safety. Sustutdene Eco Resort is not responsible for injuries or damages caused by not adhering to this rule.
