What is the required skill level for heli-skiing?

We welcome skiers and snowboarders of intermediate to expert levels. Our guides will assess your abilities and tailor the experience to your group’s needs.

What type of equipment is provided?

We provide high-quality powder skis or snowboards, avalanche safety gear (beacon, shovel, probe), and a helmet. You are welcome to bring your own equipment if preferred.

What are the safety considerations for heli-skiing?

Safety is our top priority. All participants will receive a thorough safety briefing and avalanche awareness training before heading out. Our guides are certified professionals with extensive experience in backcountry terrain and avalanche safety.

Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. (referred to in this document as “Resort”, “us”, “we”, and “ours”), a company located at 111300 Leo Creek Forest Service Road (FSR), Takla Lake, BC, V0J 2T0 (the “Property) is happy to provide you (referred to as “guest”, “visitor”, “their”, “you”, or “your”) and members under your booking and registration, a pleasant accommodation and outdoor activities experience at the Property on the terms and conditions set out in this document. 

GENERAL POLICIES

  • All visitors, whether visiting or planning on staying as guests, must be registered with guest services and sign a waiver. All visitors must adhere to the “Pet Policy.” Non-guests are not required to pay for their pets during their visit but must adhere to all other “Pet Policy” requirements. 
  • All visitors are required to depart the Property by 10:00 PM.
  • As a family-friendly resort, quiet time on the Resort is from 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Waterfront access is only permitted during daylight hours to ensure safety. Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. is not responsible for any injuries or damages caused by not adhering to this rule.
  • Fires are only permitted in designated areas, and all Guests must adhere to Provincial Fire-ban guidelines and restrictions. All guests failing to adhere to provincial fire bans will be asked to extinguish the fire(s) properly, and they will be reported if they repeatedly fail to follow fire ban guidelines and restrictions. Propane fire pits are available for rent. Please inquire with guest services. Propane fire pit rentals are limited and not guaranteed. Please come prepared. 
  • Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. has zero smoking/vaping tolerance in accommodations. Guests are asked to handle and dispose of flamed tobacco products within and around the Resort property and when partaking in Resort excursions safely and adequately. Guests are responsible for all damages and forest fires caused by their flamed tobacco product use and disposal within and around the Resort property – $250 infraction fee in addition to cleaning fees and in addition to damage repair fees.
  • As a family-friendly Resort, we ask our guests and visitors not to use cannabis within accommodations and within the Resort property. Guests and visitors are responsible for all damage and forest fires caused by using cannabis on or around the Resort property – $250 infraction fee in addition to cleaning fees and in addition to damage repair fees. 
  • Pets must be registered at the time of booking and are only permitted within pet-friendly units. A “Pet Policy” waiver must be signed and submitted at the time of booking – $150 infraction fee
  • All guests accept responsibility for deep cleaning fees that may be applied at the discretion of housekeeping for any above-average wear and tear. This fee applies to housekeeping handling the disposal of food left within the accommodation units. All guests agree to these charges being processed on the Guest’s Credit Card left on file. Guests will be provided with an invoice of additional cleaning fee charges that include pictures – $150 infraction fee
  • Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. is not responsible for any injury, damage or loss to persons, pets or Property.

PET POLICY

$30 (tax not included) per pet per night. Rates and policies are subject to change without notice. Pets are accepted in designated pet-friendly units only, a maximum of two pets per booking.

All pets must be pre-booked. Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds. All damages within units and on the Property are the responsibility of the pet owner(s). The owner(s) must clean up after their pets and properly dispose of waste. When outside of the pet-friendly units, all pets must be kept on a leash at all times.  Excessive barking is not permitted, and owners must ensure that they are prepared to manage their pet’s noise levels to ensure the comfort of other guests. Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. will offer three warnings for excessive barking/noise complaints and after the three warnings, said pets will not be accepted back for future bookings. By accepting these terms and conditions, guests are also accepting Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. and taking measures to prevent future bookings for said pets. Pets are not permitted on certain rental boats. Please inquire with the staff. Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. has a zero-tolerance policy with aggressive pets towards staff, other guests, other guest pets and the resort animals (horses, off-leash guardian dogs, mousing cats, chickens, etc.). 

Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. reserves the right to refuse any pets or cancel reservations without refund if pets are not kept in accordance with the Resort’s policies. 

Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. reserves the right to apply a $250 fee for not adhering to the “Pet Policy”. This fee is in addition to the repair cost of damages. 

TRANSPORTATION

Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. is not responsible for delays or disruptions to your trip when travelling by plane or vehicle. Late arrival times due to transportation delays will not be refunded. Late arrival times due to weather disruptions will not be refunded, and guests will be responsible for acquiring additional accommodation in such circumstances. When travelling to Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd by plane, Guests are responsible for booking transportation to and from Alpine Lakes Air, located at 5130 Seaplane Base Rd., Telkwa, BC V0J 2X1. Guests travelling by vehicle understand that the Resort is in a rural area with no cell phone service. It is advised that those travelling by vehicle follow the Resort’s safety precautions available on our website. Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. is not liable for damages or harm caused during guests’ transportation to and from the Resort. 

FORCE MAJEURE  

Neither party shall be liable for delays in the performance of any obligation under this Trip Reservation that is caused by an act or occurrence beyond the reasonable control of such party, including but not limited to acts of God, global pandemics or regional epidemics, war, civil disturbance, or extreme weather conditions (a “Force Majeure Event”). If a force majeure event occurs, the affected party’s performance shall be excused for the delay resulting from the force majeure event. If you are affected by a Force Majeure Event and your performance of your obligations under this Trip Reservation is delayed, Nimmo Bay will use commercially reasonable efforts to reschedule your trip, subject to any payment differentials (as determined in the sole discretion of Nimmo Bay).  

MINORS

Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. is an all-ages Resort that welcomes guests under the age of 19 (a “Minor”) but will not accept trip reservations by minors. If your reservation includes any Minor, you are responsible for monitoring and supervising the Minor at all times to ensure the Resort Terms and Conditions are met. 

Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. does not condone the use of alcohol or cannabis by a Minor. By making a trip reservation, you are waiving any and all claims that the Guests have or may have in the future against Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. in relation to the consumption of alcohol or cannabis by a Minor on or near the Property to release Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense or injury, including death, that the Guest or Guest’s next of kin may suffer, as a result of consumption of alcohol or cannabis by a Minor on or near the Property, and to indemnify and save harmless Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. from any claims against of losses by the Resort or any of its directors, officers, employees, agents and affiliates arising from or in any way connected with the consumption of alcohol or cannabis by a Minor from such Guest’s group. 

LUGGAGE

If Guests choose to arrive to and from Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. by aircraft, they must follow the maximum luggage weight of each group member based on the aircraft company’s aircraft guidelines. The aircraft company will determine the weight guidelines at the time of booking, and are based on what aircraft are available for your departure and arrival dates. If you require additional aircraft trips, this will be at an additional cost to the Guest. 

PAYMENT POLICY

All prices listed in the Booking Confirmation and within this document are in Canadian dollars. We may accept non-Canadian payments from you at the currency conversion rate we set at our discretion. If we accept non-Canadian payments, you agree to pay us an additional currency conversion fee of 5% of the amount of the booking payment. We accept Canadian dollar payments in the form of bank transfers, wire transfers, and Email Money Transfers. Credit cards must be on-file to cover infractions fees, damage repairs, excessive cleaning fees and no-shows. 

DEPOSIT AND FINAL BALANCE

At the time of booking, you will provide us with a deposit of 35% (the “Deposit) of the final booking price as listed in your booking confirmation from Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. to secure a trip reservation with the Resort. The balance of the final booking price is due 90 days before the booking start date, as listed on the booking confirmation. 

RESERVATION AND CANCELLATION 

By making a trip reservation, you accept and agree to the cancellation and no-show policy of Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. All trip reservations must be cancelled no later than 90 days in advance of the start date. If the trip reservation is not cancelled 90 days in advance of the start date, the final booking price will be non-refundable. 

If you cancel a trip reservation more than 90 days in advance of the start date, 50% of the Deposit will be non-refundable.

Failure to Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. receiving payments as per the payment terms can result in the Resort cancelling the trip without notice with no refund.  

PREGNANCY POLICY

Unless you or the relevant member of your party provides Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. with a written consent note from a qualified physician and an acknowledgment of the risks associated with the activity, the Resort reserves the right to deny participation by pregnant guests in outdoor adventure events, including, but not limited to the following events: hiking, ATV use, Equine Services, boat use, riding a helicopter, free diving, using a sauna, or using a hot tub.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY

You acknowledge and agree that whenever present on the Property or participating in an activity organized by Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd., neither you nor members of your group will be impaired by any substance, including, but not limited to, alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs and other controlled substances. Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. Reserves the right to deny participation by anyone who appears to be in contravention of its Drug and Alcohol Policy. By agreeing to our Terms and Conditions, you agree that Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. is not liable for any damage or harm that occurs to you, or other guests and/or visitors, as a result of you or any members of your group failing to comply with our Drug and Alcohol Policy. 

WAIVER POLICY

You and all members of your party are required to sign a Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement in the form acceptable to us prior to participating in any activity hosted by Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. Minors must have a parent or legal guardian sign the Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement on their behalf. A copy of the waiver will be available to you on written request to Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd.

MEDIA POLICY

Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. authorizes the use of its name in association with any photos taken by you or members of your group at the Property and surrounding areas. Please feel free to share your photos and videos on your social media with the hashtag #sustutdeneecoresort 

Please be advised that during your stay with Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd., you may be photographed and recorded on video and photos and recordings may be publicly shared and reproduced online. By agreeing to our Terms and Conditions, you consent to these photos and recordings and agree to waive any rights you may have in the recordings in favour of Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. You also acknowledge that Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. may use your name, photograph, and likeness in connection with the advertisement and promotion of Sustutdene Eco Resort Ltd. and on all related promotional materials without compensation. 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY  

Our liability for any and all causes arising out of this Trip Reservation, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise will, in the aggregate, not exceed the actual fees paid by you to us pursuant to the Trip Reservation. In no event will we be liable for incidental, consequential, punitive, indirect, or special damages, including, without limitation, any interruption or loss of business, profit, or goodwill. As a condition for recovery of any liability, you must assert any claim against us within three months after discovery or 60 days after the termination of the Trip Reservation, whichever is earlier.  

GOVERNING LAW  

The Trip Reservation and all disputes and controversies relating to or arising out of the Trip Reservation and these Terms & Conditions are governed by and will be interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. By making a Trip Reservation, you irrevocably attorn and submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the British Columbia courts situated in the City of Vancouver (and appellate courts therefrom) and waive objection to the venue of any proceeding in such court or that such court provides an inappropriate forum.
